Over the past 30 plus years, Sherry Hayslip, ASID, IIDA, has established a reputation as one of the premier interior designers in Dallas/Fort Worth. As owner and principal designer of Hayslip Design Associates, Inc., Sherry is personally involved in every firm project. Meet our Staff Business Administrator & Accounts Payable Melissa began working in the business office at H.D.A. in August 2001, and continues to take on further responsibility. She is an alumnus of Ursuline Academy in Dallas and Austin College in Sherman, Texas. Tina Christensen Licenced Interior Designer, Project Manager, Special Consultant on Scandinavian Design & Intern Coordinator A native of Denmark, Tina has been with H.D.A. since September 2004. She is presently the lead designer on several residential projects at the firm. Tina received her BA of Fine Arts in Interior Design from the Art Institute of Dallas and obtained a BA in Business from Skive Handelsskole in Denmark. Tabatha Hamm Designer & Project Manager Tabatha graduated from the University of North Texas with a BFA in interior design in December 2005. After proving her management abilities over several projects, Tabatha was promoted from Assistan Designer to her current position as Designer and Project Manager. Allan Hayslip Corporate Secretary & Consultant A professional musician by night, Allan joined HDA in 1996 as a part-time project specialist. From 1996-2000 his responsibilities ranged far, including the development of special projects for special clients, IT duties, project management, assisting Sherry Hayslip Smith, and developing administrative procedures and company policies. In 1999 Allan became President of Eveready Services, Inc., a specialized delivery/ installation/ warehousing service that caters to interior design firms like HDA and their clients, and continued his role as a consultant to HDA in areas concerning policies, procedures, personnel, business development, and special projects. A graduate of Sarah Lawrence College (Bronxville, NY) with emphasis on film, music and political science, Allan did graduate work at the University of North Texas in film, eventually producing a documentary that was shown on several regional PBS stations. In addition to his duties at HDA and Eveready, Allan continues to compose, perform, and record music on a professional basis and has contributed to several locally produced documentary films. Peyton Hayslip Accounts Receivable and Billing Coordinator Peyton is a professional actress who has enjoyed lead roles in stage, film, TV, documentaries, anime, and print work. She received her training at The Juilliard School in NYC. She relentlessly pursues additional creative endeavors as a writer, photographer, and artist. Her left brain is exercised via multiple managerial duties within the family companies. She has worked for Hayslip Design Associates for more than 20 years in numerous managerial capacities: as financial manager to the CEO, manager of H/R and Receivables, and manager of The Reward, the retail outlet of HDA. In addition to her duties at Hayslip Design, Peyton also manages Whitesmith & Company, Inc.. Whitesmith is the custom metal-smithing brainchild of Cole Smith and Sherry Hayslip Smith which fabricates exquisite custom hardware for an elite clientele. Bree Hyatt Designer & Project Manager A graduate from the University of North Texas with a BFA in Interior Design, Bree joined H.D.A. in late 2000 as an intern. She then moved on to be a design assistant and progressed to the role of designer and project manager with the firm. She now works on several jobs of varying sizes at H.D.A. Bree won the Star Award for Outstanding Work in 2005. Amelia MacKnight Junior Project Manager Amelia joined Hayslip Design Associates after receiving her Bachelor of Arts with honors in Interior Design from the Art Institute of Dallas in September 2010. Earlier that spring she acted as an intern at HDA. Her internship extended until June of 2011 when she “officially” joined our ranks. Currently she is working toward receiving her Interior Design license from the state of Texas. Savita Malhotra Assistant Designer, Special Consultant on Indian Design Savita received her B.S. in interior design in New Delhi, India in 2003 and her M.S in interior design from Pratt Institute in New York. Before joining Hayslip Design Associates in 2008 she interned with two leading design firms in New York. She also has 2 years of experience in New Delhi as a residential designer. Amanda Hill Junior Project Manager Amanda graduated from the Art Institute of Dallas with a Bachelors Degree in interior design in September 2011. She joined Hayslip Design Associates in October 2011 as an intern and blossomed into a full-time assistant designer. She also gained valuable experience acting as a junior project manager on some projects. Her attention to detail and energetic spirit helps Amanda make each project a success. Angela Petit-Burns Executive Assistant/ Marketing Associate Angela joined Hayslip Design Associates in February 2007. Previously an analyst in the luxury retail industry, she is Executive Assistant to Ms. Hayslip, as well as Coordinator of Marketing. She has a B.A. in Literature from the University of Dallas. Kitty Stuart Receptionist and General Assistant Kitty joined Hayslip Design Associates in a full-time capacity in December 2011. Since then Kitty has helped the office to run more efficiently and contributed greatly to several special and client-related projects. In addition to her “in-office” work, Kitty acts as a Style Scout for contributions to Sherry’s Blog. Stephanie Wiggins Assistant Designer A graduate of SMU and former Assistant Librarian for Richardson, Texas Public Library, Steph graduated with a BFA in Interior Design and a minor in Home Furnishings Merchandising from the University of North Texas in May 2009. She is skilled in AutoCAD, Revit Architecture, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Dreamweaver. She joined H.D.A. as an intern in May 2008 graduated to Assistant Designer shortly thereafter. |
