Another Dip in the Gene PoolYou may remember my granddaughter, Tiger Darrow, from previous posts. I blog about her frequently as I’m so proud of all she has accomplished in her eighteen years.
Tiger is currently a senior, studying music, at Dallas’ Arts Magnet school, the Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. In the fall she will matriculate as a freshman at New York University. Needless to say, she is thrilled!
Isn’t there something about a rolling stone gathering no moss? Lest you think Tiger might be content to rest on her spring-green laurels, she continues to press forward and expand her performance schedules, CD launches, and music video shoots.
And the Beat Goes On…
In January she released the album, HELLO, produced by Cary Pierce of Jackopierce fame. She also released a video for the song “Thinkin’ ‘Bout You” which is a track on HELLO. We’ve heard really wonderful feedback so far, and hope you’ll take a look.
In February, she re-released the video for her single, “The Writer” which can be found on her newest album YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE.
This month, Tiger released the video for a new song which is collaboration with musician/photographer, Brian Guilliaux. The song, “As One” was written in response to the conflict in Egypt. Tiger composed the lyrics, sings on the video and played the cello line. The video can be viewed on CNN iReports.
Tiger is flush with the success of these projects and her performance calendar is full. She’s playing all over Texas, and later this summer, in Northern California for a return performance at Donatiello Vineyards.
That’s my girl… did I mention I was proud?!?
